It was a special honor to be invited to participate in Disney's official Alice Through the Looking Glass Art Showcase, exhibited at Hero Complex Gallery. I was inspired by the fact that Alice starts off as a Pawn in Lewis Caroll's Through the Looking Glass, and becomes a Queen by the end when she reaches the other side of the chessboard. I also incorporated elements of the Red Queen / Queen of Hearts with the red-painted white roses, and the Queen literally cutting off their "heads".
